021What a game. This was one for the ages that will be talked about for years to come. San Jose State beat #16 Fresno State on Black Friday 62-52 in a wild, wild game. This was one of the biggest wins in school history. Records were broken. Dreams were dashed and renewed. And for a home game, the majority of those who came to the game went home unhappy. San Jose State continued to roll in Las Vegas with a big 34 -24 win on Saturday. The Spartans are now 5-3 and poised to make a run at a spot in the Mountain West title game. 100Last Saturday night Spartan Stadium was filled with fireworks, both off the field and on. With eight seconds left quarterback David Fales rushed into the end zone for the winning touchdown as the Spartans defeated the Wyoming Cowboys and moved above .500 for the first time since the first week of the season. Game Recap: San Jose State 34 Colorado State 27

The Spartans picked up another huge victory against Colorado State on Saturday and improved to .500 on the season. David Fales had his best game of the season, as he completed 28 of 35 passes for over 400 yards. Bené Benwikere had a successful return from a concussion with an interception on defense. In what is becoming common place for the men from San José, the defense tightened up yet again in the second half, holding the Rams to three second half points. Continue reading

Game Recap: Utah State 40 San Jose State 12

With the bright lights on and a Friday night prime-time ESPN audience watching, San Jose State was thoroughly dominated by the Utah State Aggies. The defense struggled again and could not stop the run or Aggie quarterback Chuckie Keeton. Perhaps more devestating than the loss was injuries to wide receiver Jabari Carr and Bené Benwikere. After their last two games, San Jose State is probably relieved to be starting Mountain West play. The Spartans could not take advantage of a stellar David Fales performance and fell to still undefeated Big 10 opponent Minnesota.
