In a must win game on the road, San Jose State was defeated soundly. The Nevada Wolf Pack dominated the Spartans in Reno and now San Jose State must win at least one of their remaining two games to become bowl eligible.
San Jose State’s defense gave up over 300 yards on the ground and the Spartans were outscored 17-0 in the second half. Although David Fales passed for over 300 yards himself it didn’t matter. If the Spartans want to keep any hope of making a bowl game, their defense must improve. Now there is no room for error. Next is a highly effective running game coming to town in Navy. If the Spartans cannot stop Navy, they will be left with the option of trying to stop undefeated Fresno State. Saturday night’s loss in Reno was a severe blow to the season and it will take great football by the Spartans in the next two weeks to overcome it.
