San Jose State got a much needed victory when they defeated Hawai’i on Saturday night. Instead of falling to a dismal 1-4, the Spartans are now 2-3 and have injected new life into their season. After falling behind early, San Jose State scored 31 straight points and never looked back. The defense thrived at times and the running game was finally established. Perhaps most impressive is that the Spartans came away victorious despite a less than stellar game from quarterback David Fales, who threw two interceptions. Next up for the Spartans is Colorado State. This should be another difficult road game for the Spartans, but a winnable game just as the game in Hawai’i was. Stay tuned for a game preview later in the week.
