With the bright lights on and a Friday night prime-time ESPN audience watching, San Jose State was thoroughly dominated by the Utah State Aggies. The defense struggled again and could not stop the run or Aggie quarterback Chuckie Keeton. Perhaps more devestating than the loss was injuries to wide receiver Jabari Carr and Bené Benwikere.Benwikere was carted off the field on a stretcher in a scary moment when he collided with a teammate. The defensive standout suffered a concussion and as of this post there is no word on when or if he will return this season. Carr separated his shoulder and his status is also uncertain. Things could get ugly quick for the Spartans who are already without Noel Grigsby. On Saturday the Spartans travel to Hawai’i to face the Warriors in what looks like a must win game. Although winnable, the sheer distance to the next game will make things awfully difficult for the Spartans. The season does not get any easier.
